The City of Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) seeks bids from qualified agencies for waste water tank maintenance, pumping, and flushing services for a mobile shower and laundry unit. The mobile unit is used to provide shower and laundry access for people experiencing homelessness in the greater Pasadena area. Qualified proposers will be able to travel to the mobile unit site on designated days and times, remove waste blackwater and greywater from the respective holding tanks, flush/clean the holding tanks, and perform other related maintenance and repair services as needed. Do not contact any other City employee or official regarding this solicitation. Any questions submitted after the date and time specified may not be considered. The initial term of the contract resulting from these Specifications shall be for one year from the date of execution by the City. The contract may be extended for three optional one-year extension periods subject to the approval of the City Manager. PPHD's mobile shower and laundry unit has two waste water tanks, one for blackwater and one for greywater. The unit consists of: One laundry room, with 3 washers and 3 dryers One restroom with shower, toilet, and sink One ADA-compliant restroom with shower, toilet, and sink Required services will be as follows: Removal and haul away of blackwater and greywater from waste water tanks. Tanks are 200 gallons each. Flushing/cleaning waste water tanks as needed to remove accumulated debris and to prevent odor. Inspection of waste water tanks and related equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs. Basic maintenance and repairs, such as snaking/removing clogs which prevent proper draining into waste water tanks. Bidders must be able to complete waste water removal and haul away services before or after shower and laundry service hours are open to the public. Generally, waste water removal and haul away must be completed before 8:30am or after 4pm on selected days. Based on historic data, PPHD projects the need for waste water removal services approximately two to three times per week. Photos of the mobile unit are available in Attachment "I" of this bid. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting in order to see the mobile unit and surrounding space in person.
