In general, the work consists of: elevator upgrades to three hydraulic passenger elevators. One of the elevators has recently been upgraded (2016) and will receive minor work. This elevator shall receive a new controller to communicate and coordinate with the two remaining passenger elevators needing upgrading. The two remaining passenger elevators will be upgraded to match to the recently upgraded elevator. Upgrades for the two elevators will include door operators, hydraulic power units/system replacement, car top handrails, microprocessor controllers, wiring, pumps, door hardware, cab lights and fan, etc. Elevators 1, 2 and 3 will receive new hoist-way doors and new cab doors and coordinator hardware along with full height, non-contact, infrared door detector. Elevator 1 and 3 have received a new hydraulic cylinder. Therefor Elevator 2 will be the only elevator needing removal/replacement of a hydraulic cylinder. The three passenger elevators shall coordinate and operate as a group. Currently the Smartrise controller installed in Elevator 3 does not coordinate with Elevators 1 and 2. This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted.
