DESCRIPTION OF WORK: All work for the Project shall be constructed in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by the Engineer. Bids shall be submitted for furnishing, delivering and installing all materials, equipment and services, including labor for the Work, which generally involves the following activities: For the Crystal River Parking Project, work involves the construction of new parking spaces along NW 1st Ave and the improvement of the unpaved parking lot at US19 and NW 1st Ave to a paved parking lot. Installation of a Riverwalk trail, landscaping, dumpster pad, FDOT Driveway connection, Relocation of power poles, relocation and addition of signage, removal of fences, and other improvements. CONTRACT TIME: Construction time to achieve Substantial Completion is 180 consecutive calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed, with an additional 45 consecutive calendar days to achieve Final Completion. BID SECURITY: A 5% bid security will be required for this project. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND: The Owner will require that the Contractor furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price. All Payment and Performance Bonds shall be secured from or countersigned by an agency or surety company recognized in good standing and authorized to do business in the State of Florida. The City of Crystal River reserves the right to waive formalities, waive any technical defects, reject any and all bids, and accept any bid which represents the lowest and best offer to the City.
