The End of Question Period is 5:00 pm, December 7, 2022 Contractors must be properly licensed at time of bid as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. The City of Winston-Salem wishes to make improvements to the Helen Nichols Park adjacent to the Carl H. Russell Community Center. These improvements include a new 744 LF stone/sand pedestrian trail, a new 615 LF prefabricated HDPE boardwalk, a new (6) piece fitness equipment circuit with shade structure, and new concrete and asphalt walk ways. Other site improvements include parking lot improvements and expansion, landscaping additions and plant relocation, and other park related items to be installed (benches, trash cans, ect.) Compliance with the City of Winston-Salems M/WBE program is required in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders contained in the specifications. The M/WBE subcontracting goals for this project are 12% MBE, 7% WBE and must be met separately. The low bidder who fails to meet said goals must submit Affidavit D and their full Good Faith Effort documentation within 24 hours. Likewise, an Affidavit C is required of the apparent low bidder who meets the M/WBE goals. Project award is anticipated on January 24, 2024 with start of construction in early March 2024.
