The City of Winston-Salem is inviting responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from design firms to provide engineering services from design through final construction for renovations and improvements to Sprague Street Recreation Center as noted in the scope of work. The services generally include but are not limited to schematic design, preliminary design & development, final design, construction/bidding documents, permitting, architectural/engineering design schedules, cost estimates, maintenance budgets, construction administration, and construction observation services. All questions concerning this RFQ or the scope of work should be submitted in writing to Ben Hatch at benjaminh@cityofws.org by the End of Question period of 5:00pm, December 19, 2023. This RFQ will in no manner be construed as a commitment on the part of the City to award a contract. The City reserves the right to reject any or all applications; to waive minor irregularities in the RFQ process or in the applications; to re-advertise this RFQ; to postpone or cancel this process; select and procure parts of services; and to change or modify the RFQ schedule at any time. The City of Winston-Salem has many recreational facilities such as Sprague Street Recreation Center, 1350 E. Sprague St., Winston-Salem, NC 27107. This facility has a strong Community and Athletic section with a high usage of the facility. The high usage of this facility brings the need to renovate the Center's components: the kitchen, restrooms, game room, reading room, office, and hallways, including new carpet, painting, signage, new plumbing fixtures, updated exterior and interior lighting, and ADA improved accessibility. The project should also include the remediation of water pooling at the base of the front steps.
