The work includes rehabilitation of approximately 1,810 LF of 39-inch trunk sewer mains by Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) lining and the rehabilitation of 5 trunk manholes within the project area. Also included in the scope of work as Bid Alternate B is the rehabilitation of approximately 910 LF of 39-inch trunk sewer mains by CIPP lining and the rehabilitation of 3 trunk manholes within the project area. Also included in the scope of work as Bid Alternate A and C is the use of non-styrene, no VOC CIPP resin for the CIPP lining work in the Base Bid and Bid Alternate B, respectively. The estimated cost of construction for the Base Bid is $1,000,000. The estimated cost of construction for Bid Alternate B is $700,000. The successful bidder will have 200 calendar days to substantially complete the project from the Notice to Proceed. Documents. Each bid shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond, made payable to the Owner, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid. The said check or bidder's bond shall be given as a guarantee that the successful bidder will execute the contract in conformity with the form of agreement contained within the contract documents, and will furnish bonds and insurance policies as specified within ten (10) days after notification of the award of the Contract to the successful bidder. The contract documents that the successful bidder must submit within ten (10) days of notification of award include, but are not limited to, a payment bond in an amount of at least 100 percent of the amount payable by the terms of the project contract and that satisfies the requirements of California Civil Code Section 3248, and a performance bond in an amount of at least 100 percent of the amount payable by the terms of the contract, and a maintenance bond in an amount of at least ten (10) percent of the amount payable by terms of the contract. All project bonds must be executed by an admitted surety insurer in accordance with applicable law and acceptable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the sole right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in a bid.
