Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Dowagiac, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The Cass County Road Commission is accepting proposals for design engineering for the replacement of the Yaw Street Bridge over the Dowagiac River in Silver Creek Township. Funding will include funds from the State of Michigan Critical Bridge Fund and all design shall comply with current Michigan Department of Transportation requirements for design and plan submittals. Design, including survey, soil borings, plans, specifications, and all necessary permitting, shall be included as part of requested services. The Cass County Road Commission has funding for this bridge in FY 2026 and would like construction to begin in the spring of 2026 and be complete by September 2026. The proposals, at a minimum, shall include the following: 1. Consultants name and experience with similar projects. 2. Office location where work shall be performed. 3. Consultants current audited overhead rate. 4. Consultants Project Manager and experience with similar projects. 5. Consultants staff members to be assigned to project and work experience. 6. List of any potential subcontractors and phases of work they would perform. 7. Capacity of staff to perform the work in a timely fashion relative to present work load and availability. 8. Description of project approach relative to anticipated work elements, including a proposed schedule of work elements and required submittals, reviews, meetings, etc... The Cass County Road Commission will evaluate the submitted proposals and interview the top three (3) consultants between February 5 and February 7, 2024.
