Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in Pickens, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and road / highway.
The contractor will be responsible for safely dismantling and re-erecting the building at a new location (same physical address). The building should be erected to standards approved by Pickens County Building Maintenance. New footers are in place and Pickens County will handle the relocation of existing metal poles and beams. A delay of approximately two weeks between dismantle and erection will be necessary to relocate the metal poles and beams. The contractor will be responsible for safely dismantling and re-erecting the building at a new location (same physical address). The building should be erected to standards approved by Pickens County Building Maintenance. New footers are in place and Pickens County will handle the relocation of existing metal poles and beams. Pickens County will provide the use of a flatbed trailer to move the trusses and metal to the new location. Contractor Responsibility 1-Remove existing ridge cap, roof panels, and end cap metal. Stack on county provided trailer and save for use in new location 2-Remove roof purlins and bracing while maintaining truss integrity 3-Remove trusses and stack on county trailer for transport 4-Install new treated wood top plates equal to what is in place 5- Provide and install trusses on metal erected by Pickens County at new site. Eight (8) trusses need to be replaced. These will be figured into total price of turnkey job. 6-Provide a price for new trusses of the same design in the event some are damaged during removal and relocation. These trusses would need to be delivered in the two-week period outlined in the section outlining the County's responsibility. 7-Supply and install treated 2x6 roof purlins 8-Supply and install treated 2x4 truss bracing 9-Supply and install 3" wood screws for purlins and bracing 10-Install metal roofing, ridge cap, and end caps that was saved during dismantling 11-Supply new screws (w/ washer) to secure metal to purlins. These screws should be installed in the existing holes in the metal. 12-Contractor will be responsible for rental of equipment needed. This may include but not limited to tele handlers, man lifts, cranes, etc. County Responsibility 1-Provide inspections as needed/requested 2-Provide two flatbed trailers for transport of metal and trusses 3-Dismantle existing metal poles and beams 4-Transport and erect structure on new footers according to specifications laid out in design by S&ME Engineering 5-The county will make its best effort to have the relocation done within two weeks, depending on weather Pricing/Schedule 1-Provide a turnkey estimate including all known labor, materials and equipment 2-Provide a per truss cost for trusses that may be damaged or need to be replaced. This cost will be addressed as a change order after the contract is issued. 3-Provide a start date and tentative project schedule
