Site work and new construction of a military facility in Vacaville, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a military facility; and for site work for a military facility.
Per the owner, as of November 6, 2024, this project is in the early stages of the predevelopment stage. The owner states that construction is anticipated to begin in 2026. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ............. To meet the needs of local military personnel and their households, the adopted Housing Element includes Program HE-2d, which commits the City to identify sites that are appropriate for military households based at Travis Air Force Base and work with Air Force housing officials and nonprofit housing groups to build off-base housing units that are affordable to active military households at Travis Air Force Base. The Program also includes releasing a Request for Qualifications/Proposals to solicit project proposals for the development of affordable housing on the City-owned site on Vanden Road (Site 78 in the Housing Element). The Program requires that units built on Site 78 be prioritized for military members or veterans. The City is now issuing this Request for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQ/P) to select a qualified developer, either individually or in partnership, to acquire and construct an affordable housing project for military/veterans on the City-owned property on Vanden Road (1 parcel, 8.4 acres). This RFQ/P provides a brief introduction to the project site, a description of RFQ/P submittal requirements, an explanation of selection criteria, and an anticipated schedule for selecting a developers proposal.
