Chamberlain Elementary School Fire Alarm System Upgrade Question Deadline 12/21/2023 at 4:00 PM ET Questions concerning this IFB must ONLY be submitted in writing to Andrew W. Sukeforth, Director of Procurement, Questions may be mailed, delivered or emailed to asukeforth@taunton-ma.gov. Written responses will be emailed to all bidders on record as having received the IFB package. The City of Taunton has identified a sole point of contact with bidders for the purpose of this IFB. Work under this contract requires a contractor to provide labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary for the Fire Alarm System Upgrade to EST4 System at Chamberlain Elementary School, located at 480 Norton Avenue, Taunton, MA 02780. More information can be found below in the Scope of Work section. Bids will be received from qualified contractors to provide construction/installation services and materials to upgrade the Fire Alarm System to an EST-4 System at Chamberlain Elementary School located at 480 Norton Avenue, Taunton, MA 02780, in accordance with the following project scope of work: 1. Upgrade of existing EST-2 fire alarm control panel to new EST-4 fire alarm panel. Installed into existing EST-2 fire alarm panel Location, in the communications room next to elevator machine room near administration office. 2. EST-2 panel old program version 2.11 has been updated to SDU 3.3 version. Updated SDU points list. (Attachment D) Flash Drive of SDU 3.3 program (this may be requested by email request only to Andrew Sukeforth, Procurement Director, at asukeforth@taunton-ma.gov. Only Edwards Strategic Partners may be able to open this link). 3. Carefully remove old EST-2 fire alarm panel and related equipment from existing Communications room and front entrance annunciator panels. All removed all EST-2 equipment and old speaker/strobes and SIGCOM Radio Master Box #3108 to be returned to the Taunton Building Department. 4. Install new complete EST-4 fire alarm panel with all required EST-4 equipment and devices to support a fully operational fire alarm system. 5. Install in EST-4 panel all-call Mass Notification microphone and programmable panel switch buttons with the same functions as the old EST-2 panel. Program by-pass switches for speaker/strobes and strobes, duct detectors HVAC shut down, elevator re-call, and Mag Door Holders, lockdown and shelter in place. 6. Program EST-4 panel with Lockdown and Shelter in Place recorded audio messages. Program panel with switch buttons to activate each message. 7. Transfer all necessary fire alarm circuits from old EST-2 into the new EST-4 fire alarm panel. 8. Use existing wiring when possible, install new wiring when required. 9. Install EST-4 panel battery cabinet next to new EST-4 fire alarm panel. All system batteries shall be readily accessible and not mounted higher than 6 feet. 10. Install new EST-4 annunciator panel in place of existing EST-2 annunciator located in front lobby main entrance. Provide annunciator panel with all-call Mass Notification broadcast microphone, and programmable panel switch buttons with the same functions as the EST-4 panel programmable switch buttons. 11. Connect new EST-4 fire alarm panel to the existing DTX Radio Master Box. #3160 Wire radio master box 16 zones into EST-4 with the zone configuration required by Taunton Fire Department. Configure EST-4 panel to trip 16 Master Box Zones. NOTE: Definition of Radio Master Box zone functions. (Attachment D) DTX Radio Master Box and antenna provided by City of Taunton Building Department. Master Box testing and certification by Signal Communications. 12. NAC notification consists of 8 speaker circuits and 8 strobe circuits. 13. Replace all existing NAC non-synchronized speaker strobe devices with new EST-4 synchronized LED speaker/strobe devices and LED strobe devices. All strobes shall be synchronized.
