Renovation of an educational facility in Harlan, Kentucky. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of January 5, 2024, project is cancelled. Project is no longer needed. Replace the existing HVAC system with a new multi-unit split system with ceiling cassette units at the existing two-story Harlan Independent Schools Central Office Building. Replace the exterior windows and entry door systems with new aluminum storefront system, with access control provided at the entry door locations. Project includes new lay-in ceilings with reuse of the existing light fixtures throughout the building. There is a Bid Alternate to renovate the existing Board Meeting Room to expand the available space for the Board of Education to conduct their monthly meetings that will include new HVAC and ceilings as part of the Base Bid scope of work, and then provide new room finish upgrades as the bid alternate. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount Successful bidders will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds. The bond shall cover the entire base bid cost and any accepted alternates. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders.
