This Project include the repair of Asphalt/Concrete Cuts within the City of Columbia Service Area, and will include the repairs throughout Water Districts 1 & 4. The work includes the repair of asphalt and concrete within existing roadways and driveways, the repair of concrete sidewalks and concrete curb & gutter within City of Columbia, SCDOT, and County Roadways. LICENSES AND PERMITS: The successful bidder shall secure any applicable licenses or permits necessary to do business in the City of Columbia Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond using the form contained in the Invitation for Bid and executed by a bonding company duly authorized and licensed to do business in the State of South Carolina, or by a certified check payable to the order of The City of Columbia, and drawn upon a national bank or a bank and trust company doing business in the State of South Carolina, in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the amount of the bid, to guarantee that the successful Bidder will, within ten (10) days from the date of the notice of award of contract, enter into a contract with the Owner, and execute to said Owner a Performance and Payment bond, the contract and bond to be in the form set forth in the contract, bond and specifications referred to in the Advertisement for Bids. Simultaneously with his delivery of the executed contract, the Contractor shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount at least equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the amount of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of this contract and for payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this contract as specified in General Specifications included herein. Bids may be withdrawn on written or telegraphic request received from Bidders prior to the time fixed for opening. Negligence on the part of the Bidder in preparing the bid confers no right for the withdrawal of the bid after it has been opened. The City of Columbia requires every person engaged or intending to engage in any calling, business, occupation or profession in whole or in part within the limits of the city to pay an annual license fee and obtain a business license as provided in the ordinance.
