furnishing all labor, equipment materials and incidentals necessary to properly armor coat the asphalt street, Main Street from 3rd Street to 10th Street. The project includes sweeping of loose armor coat aggregate, windrow, loading and hauling to Land Fill and salvage to the City. PROF. ENGR. NO. 4295 The project consists of armor coating about 12,400 square yards of asphalt streets. There will be approximately 4,100 gallons of emulsified asphalt (CRS-2P) and 160 tons of armor coat aggregate. Start and stop lines shall be neat, even with concrete street edges and at right angles to the direction of armor coating. The bids will be opened in the presence of all other bidders. The extent of the work consists of thoroughly cleaning the streets to be armor coated, spraying approximately 0.33 gallons per square yard of emulsion oil on the street and covering the sprayed areas immediately with armor coat aggregate (3/8 limestone chips), about 23 to 25 pounds per square yard. Main Street has variable widths. The widths are shown on the drawings. The south end of Main Street near the 10th Street intersection and the middle section of 6th Street intersection have concrete sections which shall not be armor coated. The radius sections at street intersections will be 25' in most cases. The areas armor coated will be rolled with pneumatic tired rollers as called out in the specifications. The Contractor will be responsible for traffic control for the areas being worked on. The work consists of armor coating the street shown on the drawing sheets. Work shall be completed in accordance with Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction. A summary of quantities to be paid are listed below. The bids will be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the owner and shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount at least equal to 5% of the total bid. If a contract award is made and the bidder fails to enter into a contract with the owner within ten (10) days, the bid security will be forfeited to the City of Chadron as liquidated damages. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all bids and accept the bid advantageous to the City. Other governmental or State agencies wishing to Armor Coat at the same unit price may do so with a separate contract between those parties.
