The City of Chesapeake is soliciting quotations from qualified vendors to provide the Public Works department with Gantry Steel Plates Replacement on Rt. 168-Chesapeake Expressway and related items as specified herein. Scope of Work: The vendor shall provide the following goods WITHOUT SUBSTITUTION upon request of the City. A. Eight (8) gantry hot-dipped-galvanized steel plates; including 6 each 2" x 7/8" slotted holes located 3" from the edge. i. Four (4) plates will be 72" x 30" x 1/2 " (L x H x W) ii. Four (4) plates will be 123" x 30" x 1/2 " iii. Barrier wall shall have any crack or patch repair made to ensure plate repair passes independent testing. Concrete crack repair and patching procedures shall be per Section 412 of the VDOT 2020 Road and Bridge Specifications. [Note: For anchor bolt installation, the City may request that a manufacturer's representative be present (particularly if using adhesive anchors).] iv. Provide Acord Form Certificate of Insurance in amounts shown in Special Terms and Conditions, naming City of Chesapeake as additional insured. B. Hardware for installation, 3/4" hot-dipped-galvanized steel bolt anchors; will be adhesively anchored in the existing concrete using Hilti RE500 epoxy. [Note: The City may require post-installed anchor testing (tensile pull-out test)]. C. Installation of plates; completion within two (2) days of starting installation, weather and testing permitting. D. Ship to City of Chesapeake, Chesapeake Expressway, 168 Toll Plaza Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
