This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development (OSLAD) grant program. Accordingly, the winning bidder must comply with the business enterprise program practices for minority-owned businesses, female-owned business, and businesses owned by persons with disabilities of the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females and Persons with Disabilities Act (30 ILCS 575/0.01 et seq.) and the equal employment practices of Section 2-105 of the Illinois Human Rights Act (775 ILCS 5/2-105), including timely provision of the required documentation. The Downers Grove Park District encourages minority business firms to submit bids for this project and encourages the successful bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The work for this project includes concrete footings, curb and walkway removal, engineered wood play surfacing removal, grading, bituminous concrete paving, concrete paving, shelter erection, artificial grass playground surfacing, drainage improvements, planting and other miscellaneous items relevant to the renovation as described in the Project Manual and associated Drawings.
