Competitive Quotes for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to fully replace the Unit 8 Turbine Room Roof, the North Section of the Unit 8 Tripper Room Roof and then Unit 7 Elevator Penthouse Roof Owner will transmit to all Prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as Owner considers necessary in response to questions arising at the meeting. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.Proper PPE will be required to access the work site. Work shall be in accordance with the Quote Documents which are on file at the office of Muscatine Power and Water, 3205 Cedar Street, Muscatine, Iowa Commencement of Contract shall start within 15 calendar days of written authorization to proceed with Contract Completion thereof on or before June 14th, 2024. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Quotes may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Quotes, including without limitation the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Quotes, reject the Quote of any Bidder that Owner believes would not be in the best interest of the project to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the Quote is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by Owner. Addenda may also be issued to modify the Quote Documents as deemed advisable by Owner or OPE. Successful Bidder will be required to provide Owner with performance and payment Bond on Owner-furnished forms, for the execution of work on this project. Copy of Owners Performance and Payment Bond is bound within these documents. Cost of providing a performance and payment bond is a non-taxable item in the State of Iowa. Owner shall award contract to the Successful Bidder by providing a Purchase Order Agreement, all other written Contract Documents, and Bond forms. Within 15 days thereafter, Contractor shall sign and deliver the Contractors Acceptance area of the Purchase Order Agreement and required attachments to Owner with the required Bond, satisfactory to Owner in an amount at least equal to 100% of the Contract Price as security for the faithful performance of contract. Said security shall have attorney-in-fact form attached thereto. Bond shall run for one year from date of contract completion and shall protect Owner from defective workmanship, material, and equipment and shall guarantee satisfactory performance thereof. Should the surety become financially irresponsible during the time contract is in force, Owner may require additional and sufficient sureties and Contractor shall furnish same to the satisfaction of Owner within 15 days after written notice to do so. In default thereof, contract may be suspended as provided in these conditions.
