Site work for a water / sewer project in North Saanich, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This is the Phase 2 solicitation following an Invitation to Qualify (Phase 1). Only qualified suppliers from Phase 1 have been invited to bid. Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), has a requirement for the upgrade of the Domestic Water and Fire System at the Institute of Ocean Sciences Sidney location in BC. Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: Base Work: 1) Remove and dispose the existing infrastructure components in the Fixed Wharf area. 2) Replace existing water and fire supply system piping, valve and hydrant system for the Fixed Wharf area. Coordinate with the Department Representative for tie-in of water lines with the existing Kiosks’ 3) Provide new fire hydrant and hose systems. 4) Heat trace and insulation of all new piping system within the scope. 5) Chlorinate all new piping system and commission with pressure testing. Optional Work Item: 1. The Work involves, but not limited to the following (as shown on Drawing C001 – to be provided in Phase 2 - ITT): i. Removal and disposal of existing infrastructure components in the 118.3m length of the Fixed Wharf section from beginning of the dock on east side i.e. entire north and north/south connector dock of the Fixed Wharf. ii. Replace existing water and fire supply system piping, valve and hydrant system for the 118.3 m length of the Fixed Wharf. Coordinate with the Department Representative for tie-in of water lines with the existing Kiosks. iii. Provide new fire hydrant and hose systems for the north run of the Fixed Wharf area. iv. Heat trace and insulation of all new piping system within the 118.3 m of Optional scope. v. Chlorinate all new piping system and commission with pressure testing for the replaced system by isolating out of scope area. To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately between $500,001.00 and $1,500,000.00 (GST included), including the optional work.
