The purpose of this project is to plan, design, and construct improvements to the Betty Ehart Senior Center to include replacement of existing cooling system with a new Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System for the entire building, related electrical and plumbing upgrades, finish replacements as necessary; upgrades to improve electrical and lighting systems to make the facility energy efficient; update elevator, flooring, restrooms, doors and windows; and various items identified in Site Accessibility Evaluation report completed April 2022 addressing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Los Alamos County shall follow its procurement code (Chapter 31 of the Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances) established via its home rule powers as provided for in Article X, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of New Mexico. The project is included in the Los Alamos County FY 2024 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of January 8, 2025, project is in design phase until March 2025. A design firm has not been identified. Construction is estimated to take place in late 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
