This project is included in the Sarasota County's fiscal years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of January 5, 2024, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2024. A detailed scope has not yet been released. Funding to build or obtain a facility (elections center) that is centrally located within the county with adequate public and staff parking and dedicated staff office space, as well as room for elections storage, preparation and staging areas. If needed, there is potential for a dual campus elections center. This elections center would accommodate numerous election-related functions and activities, such as voter registration, early voting, poll worker and election worker training, vote-by-mail ballot processing and canvassing, canvassing board meetings, vote tabulating operations, public observation, and provide sufficient storage for voting and tabulation equipment, and election-related supplies. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
