The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of the renewal of water mains on Arlington Street, Clifton Street, Willow Ridge Road, and Gerrond Bay all within the City of Winnipeg. The major components of the Work are as follows: (a) Installation of approximately 953m of 150-350mm diameter PVC water main pipe by trenchless method; (b) Abandonment of existing water mains as required; (c) Removal/abandonment of existing hydrant assemblies and gate valves as required; (d) Installation of valves and hydrant assemblies; (e) Reconnection or renewal of water service connections; and (f) Restoration of pavement and boulevard areas. The Contractor shall achieve Total Performance within sixty (60) consecutive Working Days of the commencement of the Work as specified in D20, or by October 18, 2024, whichever occurs first. The Bidder shall include in their Bid Submission bid security in the form of a digital bid bond, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. (a) a performance bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in the form attached to these Supplemental Conditions (Form H1: Performance Bond), in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price; and (b) a labour and material payment bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in the form attached to these Supplemental Conditions (Form H2: Labour and Material Payment Bond), in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price. The Award Authority may reject all or any part of any Bid, or waive technical requirements or minor informalities or irregularities, if the interests of the City so require.
