Reference Number 0000261300 The Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) is an agency of the Province of Ontario responsible for providing efficient, safe, and reliable transportation services in Northern Ontario. Current services include inter-community bus passenger and bus parcel delivery services, freight rail services that connect Northeastern Ontario to other markets across Canada and around the world, and passenger rail service on the Polar Bear Express. The Polar Bear Express provides rail service connecting Cochrane to Moosonee and the Indigenous communities of the James Bay Coast since 1932. Previously, ONTC operated the Northlander passenger rail service between Toronto and Cochrane, however, this service was discontinued in 2012. ONTC is reinstating the passenger rail service between Toronto (Union Station) and Northeastern Ontario via the Northeastern Passenger Rail (NEPR) (the Project). The Project will provide train service from Toronto's Union Station and will terminate in Timmins, with a rail connection from Timmins to Cochrane. To facilitate the return of this service, ONTC will be undertaking infrastructure upgrades required to reinstate stations along the existing rail corridor, rail and track upgrades to ensure passenger safety and comfort, and building a new station building in Timmins. ONTC is seeking proposals for the Design, Production, and Delivery of nine (9) Fabricated Passenger Shelters to be located at nine (9) separate Shelter Locations as part of the overall upgrades required at the reinstated stations. The Shelters are required for phased delivery over Summer/Fall 2024 and Summer/Fall 2025. Shelter locations shall be the following reinstated station locations within the Province of Ontario: Matheson, Kirkland Lake (Swastika), Temiskaming Shores (New Liskeard), Temagami, South River, Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, and Washago. Also included in this RFP are the following options: 1) Option to provide one (1) additional Shelter that meets all the requirements contained within the Agreement. This Shelter shall be delivered to a location of ONTC's choosing within five months of receipt of the written instruction. ONTC shall have the option to order an additional Shelter at any time prior to April 26, 2026. 2) Option to indicate, in Part 4 - Proposal Form 9 - Qualification Statement, whether the Respondent has the availability for installation of the Shelters at the Shelter Locations. This information will be provided directly to the Contractor who may choose to contract directly with the Successful Respondent for the installation work. Respondents shall ensure that their Proposal adheres to the detailed Schedule A - Statement of Work, Schedule B - Fabricated Passenger Shelter Specification, and IFT Drawings located at Part 5 - Contract Specifications of the RFP package.
