Site work and new construction of a stadium in Long Beach, California. Working plans call for the construction of a 132,000-square-foot stadium; and for site work for a stadium.
As of June 10, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded, though it is expected to be awarded soon. The Project consists of the design and construction of the following facilities and related improvements Veterans Stadium demolition and replacement with new NCAA compliant Football and Track & Field Stadium. New NCAA compliant Basketball and Volleyball Gymnasium Multidisciplinary and Kinesiology classrooms Faculty and Staff offices Athletic support spaces, including a training room, team lockers, weight rooms, etc. The project consists of the complete demolition of the iconic post-war era Veteran's Memorial Stadium Track and Field complex. The 1947 concrete frame bleacher Building S shall be demolished along with any of the parking lot to the west and south of the existing stadium complex to accommodate the new facility within the proposed project site (see Attachment D). The total site demolition required for the new project is anticipated to be approximately 19.5 acres, of which approximately 55,000 SF is the demolition of the existing stadium building.
