The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of three parts: (a) Part 1 Federal Government Funded Work (b) Part 2 Manitoba Hydro Funded Work (c) Part 3 City Funded Work Part 1 Federal Government Funded Work shall consist of: (a) Structural Soil Cells and Related Forestry Work (i) North side of Broadway from Kennedy Street to Main Street Part 2 Manitoba Hydro Funded Work shall consist of: (a) Street Lighting and Associated Works (i) South side of Broadway from Osborne Street to Main Street Part 3 City Funded Work shall consist of: (a) Pavement Rehabilitation (i) Westbound Broadway from Osborne Street to Main Street (b) Underground Sewer Work (i) Broadway (MH70054992) Abandon Manhole (ii) Broadway (MH70054993) Abandon Manhole (iii) Broadway (MH70054994) Abandon Manhole (c) Mobilization/Demobilization The major components of the Work are as follows: (a) Pavement Rehabilitation (i) Installation of Traffic Signals infrastructure (By Others) (ii) Complete required Hydro Excavation Investigations to confirm existing Utilities (iii) Complete manhole and sewer Work (sewer inspections as required) (iv) Planing existing asphalt pavement (v) Full depth concrete repairs of existing joints and slabs (vi) Connection to existing sewer (vii) Connection to existing manholes and existing services (viii) Replacement of existing catch basins and catch basin leads (ix) Adjustment of catch basins, sewer manholes, appurtenances, and utility manholes (x) Removal of existing sidewalk (xi) Installation of street light bases, conduit, new light standards and street light cable (xii) Insulation of water services (as required) (xiii) Installation of Structural Soil Cells including catchbasins, subdrain, distribution pipe, transfer pipe, Manitoba Hydro conduits and all other related items (xiv) Connection and Installation of conduit and cabling for Winnipeg Transit Heated Shelters (xv) Renewal of existing curbs (xvi) Installation of detectable warning tiles (xvii) Construct new 125 mm concrete sidewalk c/w paving stone band (xviii) Construction of concrete Winnipeg Transit shelter bases and power pedestal bases (xix) Placement of asphalt overlay (Type 1A, average thickness 85 mm) (xx) Supply and placement of paving stones (xxi) Installation of Downtown Biz amenities (bike racks and street furniture) (xxii) Boulevard restoration The City currently has no approved funding in the Capital Budget for Part 2 of the Work, but is anticipating receiving notification about funding from Manitoba Hydro during the Award Period. Part 2 of the Work is contingent upon Manitoba Hydro approving sufficient funding. The Bidder shall include in their Bid Submission bid security in the form of a digital bid bond, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price, and agreement to bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in Form G1: Bid Bond and Agreement to Bond, available Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
