Site work, renovation and addition to a water / sewer project in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project will provide for nutrient removal treatment upgrades at the Elledge and Muddy Creek Wastewater Treatment Plants. These improvements are necessary for the plants to comply with effluent nutrient limits that are expected to be implemented by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality at both plants when total maximum daily loads for nutrients are enacted for High Rock Lake and the Yadkin River Watershed. It will also provide for additional treatment capacity at the Elledge Wastewater Treatment Plant to accommodate future wastewater flows. Fiscal year 2024-2029 *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
