Renovation of a mixed-use development in Victoria, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center; and swimming pool.
All mechanical, electrical, and structural work required to ensure a complete and functioning pool dehumidifier. Please reference the tenders drawings and specifications for a detailed review of the required work. A high-level summary can be found below. The existing 20,000 CFM pool dehumidifier will be replaced with a 22,000 CFM pool dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will be integrated directly with the facility's boiler plant, allowing it to offset a substantial portion of the facility's carbon emissions. The District of Oak Bay (DOB) has applied for and obtained a Fortis Custom Energy grant to install this new equipment, offsetting a portion of the equipment and installation costs. Because of this, the installing contractor will be responsible for providing all documentation and invoice breakouts required by Fortis BC to ensure timely grant funding disbursements. To support the new dehumidifier's operation, the installing contractor will have to remove existing solar collectors to allow for the installation of two fluid coolers. In addition to this work, the contractor will be responsible for completing boiler piping upgrades, boiler control upgrades, pool exhaust fan upgrades, and all controls upgrades required to ensure a complete and functioning system. The final installation will allow the facility to maintain ASHRAE recommended humidity and temperature conditions within the pool. The pool's new dehumidifier will also be able to supply 16% more fresh air, allowing it to conform with ASHRAE outdoor air requirements.
