As of May 12, 2026, the previous RFP has been awarded to a civil engineer. A general contractor for this project has not yet been selected for this project. A firm construction timeline for this project has not yet been released. Sycamore Valley Road Improvements. The project is identified as 'Sycamore Valley Road Improvements' in the Town's Five-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP No. C-635; copy enclosed for reference). Sycamore Valley Road, located from Camino Ramon to Camino Tassajara, requires resurfacing to maintain its structural integrity and functionality. This principal arterial plays a crucial role in the local transportation network and serves a significant volume of vehicular and bicycle traffic. This multi-modal usage, along with its proximity to residential neighborhoods, highlights the importance of a comprehensive design approach. The Town will host a Project Kick-Off/Scoping meeting and bi-weekly check-ins, as necessary, with Town and consultant staff to maintain communication and ensure deliverables remain on schedule and within budget. The initial scoping meeting will include a discussion to finalize the scope of the project, project expectations regarding coordination, reporting, and deliverables. The Town of Danville is soliciting proposals from qualified Civil Engineering design professionals/consulting firms ("consultant") to assist the Town of Danville Town with the engineering design and preparation of plans, specifications, and construction cost estimate (PS&E) for the Sycamore Valley Road Improvements project. Documents will be shared to familiarize the Consultant with any as-built information available, Town policies and programs as all work shall comply with all applicable codes, regulations, specifications, and guidelines. Consultant will prepare a meeting summary with project goals, objectives and action items. SCOPE OF WORK The Scope of Work that consultants include in their proposals should consist of, but is not limited to, the following tasks. The Town reserves the right to reject all proposals received. The Town is under no obligation to award a contract if no suitable consultant can be found or if the expected project funding changes. The Town also reserves the right to interview the top-rated consultants, if it deems the process necessary to make a final selection.
