The West Lyon Community School District is located at 1787 IA-182, Inwood, IA 51240. The current facility is home to students in grades K-12 in one building. The project will include additions of athletics, auditorium and classrooms in addition to renovations of kitchen, commons and classrooms. The project also includes a bus barn and site improvements such as site utilities, parking and a bus drop off loop This project encompasses all construction activities as it relates to the following: The auditorium/athletics addition to the north totals 54,000 square feet while the classroom addition to the south totals 7,000 square feet. The kitchen, commons and classroom renovations total 28,645 square feet. The pre-engineered metal building bus barn located on the Southwest corner of the site totals 13,230 square feet. This school sitework for additions will commence with site demolition and earthwork in the spring of 2024 along with renovation spaces starting after school year completion in May of 24'. Bus barn construction will start with earthwork and foundations in spring of 24'. Project final completion of fall of 2025. If required by the Contractor, as indicated in the Definition section of this Agreement, Subcontractor shall provide a Payment and Performance Bond, in an amount equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Subcontract Sum. Subcontractor shall secure bond riders to reflect any changes to the Subcontract Sum. Said bond shall be executed by a corporate surety acceptable to Contractor in its sole discretion and shall be in a form satisfactory to Contractor. The costs for said bonds shall be included in the Subcontract Sum and shall be the responsibility of Subcontractor. No change, alteration or modification in or deviation from this Subcontract Agreement or the plans or specifications shall release or exonerate, in whole or in part, any surety on any such bond given in connection with this Subcontract Agreement, and neither Owner nor Contractor shall be obligated to notify any surety or sureties of any such change.
