The City of Brevard (City) is soliciting qualifications packages from eligible engineering firms interested in working with the City to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER)/Engineering Alternative Analysis (EAA) for expansion, improvements or replacement of the existing City of Brevard Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The scope of the work would include but not limited to; Projection of future wastewater flows and loading to the existing Town of Brevard WWTP;
Evaluation of impacts of discharge water flood elevation to WWTP hydraulic capacity;
Potential expansion of WWTP into 100-yr flood plain/flood way;
Evaluating potential permit limit impacts due to increased flowrates;
Alternative evaluation to identify the proposed modifications and additions to WWTP equipment and process operations in order to ensure a cost effective, reliable and completely functional system to treat an increased influent loading and flowrate;
Evaluation of potential alternative or additional sludge disposal options,
Assistance in acquiring the necessary permits from NCDEQ and other regulatory agencies in order to obtain approval of PER/EAA for the selected alternative;
Assisting the City with identifying and obtaining sources of funding for the proposed project.
