The City of Sunset Hills, Missouri seeks bids from qualified contractors for 2024 Hadley Hill Mill & Overlay Package- Proposed construction for the Project will consist generally of: Mill down a depth necessary to correct the profile for the entire pavement. The area that is marked out consists of roughly 8,354 SY of road surface that is 3,380 LF in length. The existing surface has both a Micro-seal and a small aggregate chip seal on the surface. The milled area will then be overlayed with a 2" St. Louis County C-Mix after application of proper tack and pavement markings restored. Prior to placing the tack coat, the existing roadway will be swept clean by means of a street sweeper and blown clean. A tack coat of emulsified asphalt (SS-I H) shall be placed at a rate of 0.10 gallons per square yard on all asphalt surfaces to receive the asphalt overlay. Traffic shall always be maintained. Traffic Control Signage and devices shall be the responsibility of the contractor and conform to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. All lanes will need to be open to traffic by the end of each day. At points where the proposed asphalt overlay will abut existing pavement, the pavement shall be ground to a depth of two inches (2"). Resulting lateral depressions to traffic shall have temporary asphalt ramps placed and maintained until placement of the new asphalt overlay. Care shall be taken to maintain the existing storm water drainage patterns. Water valves and manholes shall be raised to meet the proposed grade of the asphalt overlay. Water valves shall be raised in accordance with requirements of St. Louis County Water Company. Gas valves shall be raised in accordance with the requirements of Spire Energy. Manhole lids shall be raised in accordance with the requirements of the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District. Cursory review of all streets showed no water valves or manholes, but bidders are advised to field verify this observation for their purposes. Two (2") inches of St. Louis County C-Mix shall be placed over the grind area. 0' - Pavement change from Highway 30 - 38' north of Highway 30 shoulder. o Asphalt curb on left. o Rock shoulder on right. o 173'- End of asphalt curb on left. o 180'- End of rock shoulder on right. o 614' - Start of Asphalt over Concrete apron to Mill Hill on left. o 695' - Water valve in pavement, 8' left of centerline. o 735' - End of Asphalt over Concrete apron to Mill hill on left. o 754' - Start open stormwater pit on left. o 763' - End of open stormwater pit on left. o 774'- Fire hydrant on right. o 970'- Fire hydrant on right. o 1103' - Fire hydrant on right. o 1173'- AT&T plastic box on left. o 1475 - AT&T plastic box on left. o 1632'- Fire hydrant on right. o 1730' - AT&T plastic box on left. o 1879' - AT&T plastic box on left. o 1926'-Start asphalt curb on left. o 1991'- Finish asphalt curb on left. o 2037'- Fire hydrant on right. o 2324' - Start Hidden Valley apron on left. o 2392' - End section 1 at centerline of Hidden Valley. o 2435' - End Hidden Valley apron on left. o 2441' - AT&T quazite box on left. o 2606' - AT&T plastic box on left. o 2791' - Start asphalt throat to storm water inlet on left. o 2804' - End asphalt throat to storm water inlet on left. o 2869' -AT&T plastic box on left. o 3253' - Water valve 11' left of centerline in pavement. o 3258' - Water valve 8' left of centerline. o Fire hydrant on right. o Start of 58'diameter cul-de-sac o 3340'- Back of cul-de-sac. Pavement Markings to be restored include: 6513 LF of 4" Yellow - no passing centerline 6514 LF of 4" White - solid curb line 15 LF of 2' wide stop bar by Highway 30 Question Deadline 01/16/2024 submit to the City an e-mail request to Jerry Eime at jeinie@sunsethills.com for an interpretation thereof no later than seven (7) days before the date set for receipt of bids.
