Reference Number 0000338402 The City of Steamboat Springs is seeking Requests for Proposals (RFP) for design services from qualified firms for design work to add raw water pumping capacity to the existing pumphouse at Howelsen Hill to provide additional snowmaking and irrigation capacity to the Howelsen Hill ski area. The existing pumphouse will need design work for: A. Intake capacity infrastructure to increase from the existing ~600gpm to desired ~1350gpm rate that meets the 3 cubic feet per second (3cfs) water right that the City of Steamboat Springs has from the Yampa River B. Additional high pressure pump in the pumphouse C. Addition of a variable frequency drive (VFD) for the new pump and a programmable logic controller (PLC) D. Second snowmaking pressure line to the ski area E. Addition of a vault at the base of the ski area to serve as a switching station for snowmaking on Howelsen Hill -- This design will also cover the civil, mechanical, electrical, and permitting required to address these improvements to the existing pump house building.
