The work for the Ali Sculpture Site Preparation shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of installation of: -20 CY, 6" Reinforced Concrete Slab -50 CY, Aggregate Base -110 CY, Select Backfill -75 CY, Common Excavation -800 SF Non-Woven Geotextile -320 SY, Loam & Seed -400 SY, Fine Grading -1, Sculpture Pedestal Base (Colored Concrete) Work includes grubbing existing surface, boxcutting for new 20 CY, 6" Reinforced Concrete Slab with concrete (formed in place) sculpture pedestal base, and loaming & seeding disturbed areas. All work included in the contract, including final loaming & seeding, must be completed by no later than May 15, 2024. No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated. Questions and Requests for Information shall be submitted to Faith Thomas (fthomas@lewistonmaine.gov) on or before noon, January 24, 2024. Questions and RFIs will be responded to via email to potential bidders on the Plan Holders List and those registered with the City Purchasing Department for this project. Once the contract has been awarded, The City reserves the right to negotiate with the low bidder to bring projects down to within budget. The Finance Committee reserves the right to waive any formality and may consider as informal any Proposal not prepared and submitted in accordance with these provisions. The Finance Committee reserves the right to accept any Proposal or reject any or all Proposals if it is deemed to be in the public interest to do so.
