The City of Glen Ullin is requesting bids to replace curb stops, gate values and meter pits throughout the city. A map is attached to this bid spec. The City of Glen Ullin Public Works Dept. will oversee the project The contractor will be responsible for locating all utilities prior to excavation and liable for the cost of any damage to the same. The contractor is also responsible for establishing barricades to maintain safety around the work site. The contractor must be licensed and bonded, evidence of which must be provided to the City of Glen Ullin prior to bid acceptance. A performance bond will be required. Construction completion will be completed by September 30, 2024 All costs necessary to complete this project including materials (fixtures, fill materials, etc.) and labor are to be included in the bid. This is a Davis-Bacon wage rate project and the contractor and/or their subs will be required to register on the sam.gov website; not to be disbarred from doing work with the government; and submit weekly payroll reports. This will be an open cut installation by using equipment to excavate the existing curb stops and gate valves, and install new curb stops, gate valves and meter pits. The water pipe is around 7 to 8 feet deep. This construction method would influence the existing surface conditions above the pipe. The water services are intended to be replaced if they are in poor condition. When the construction requires the removal of curb and sidewalk at a crosswalk, a ramp that meets the code for American Disability Act would be installed.
