Site work for a communication facility in Bonavista, Newfoundland. Completed plans call for site work for a communications tower.

Closing Time: 3:30 PM (NT) The work covered under this specification consists of the Design, Fabrication and Installation of a 12.2 m square self-support tower located at Cape Bonavista, Newfoundland and Labrador. In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: Engineering design, fabrication and installation of a 12.2 m square self-support tower structure for Cape Bonavista, NL as per site specific environmental and tower loading conditions as per existing conditions, foundation repairs, and lightning protection. The entirety of the existing tower structure is to be removed and disposed of in accordance with DFO requirements. The foundation is to be repaired as per the Engineering drawings after the removal of the existing tower. Contractor is to reinstate the walkway. The existing TX lines will be removed and reinstated by DFO. Contractor to coordinate with DFO prior to removal of the existing tower. Removal and installation of all CCG equipment, hardware, and associated lines is not the responsibility of the Contractor. This is to be coordinated through the Departmental Representative in a timely manner. Tower design shall incorporate 4 legs and shall be designed to allow for the use of the existing foundation. Tower design shall incorporate a ladder and fall arrest rail that leads to a working platform at the top of the tower. Top platform shall be equipped with approved hand railing. Tower footprints to avoid existing anchor bolts. Tower design shall support wind and ice loading as per the provided Environment Canada wind data in Appendix B and minimum CSA S37 requirements. Tower shall be designed to support Owner’s existing appurtenances as shown in Appendix D. Design and supply of a TX ladder to accommodate a minimum of eight (8) 5/8= transmission lines. Transportation of tower, equipment and all materials to Cape Bonavista site including loading and unloading. Contractor to supply and install an anti-climb assembly, fully encasing the tower to prevent unauthorized access to the tower. The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work within 12 weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following cost category: between $100,001 to $500,000 (HST excluded).
