A. The scope of work includes construction of but not limited to Site preparation Earthwork and grading Environmental protection Installation of play equipment, site features, and furnishings Other elements and work as required by the contract documents Courtyard & Playground Improvements Phase 2 project for the Lowell Community Charter Public School, 206 Jackson Street, Lowell, Massachusetts 01850. The scope of work includes improvements to the courtyard area located at the school, including but not limited to preparing the site for construction, installation of site furnishings, installation of color sealcoat patterns and athletic striping, construction of raised planter beds, installation of new playground safety surfacing and containment border, and installation of new playground components. Proposals shall be submitted with detailed specifications of the items proposed to be furnished on the form of proposal obtainable from the aforesaid Chief Operating Officer, which formal proposal will contain accompanying instructions to bidders and a copy of the specifications. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, drawn upon a national or state bank or trust company, to the order of Lowell Community Charter Public School, or a bond with sureties in a penal sum equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, conditioned that if Bidder's Bid is accepted, Bidder will enter into a Contract for the same and that Bidder will execute such further security as may be required for the performance of the Contract. Separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, will be required of the successful Bidder, and the bonds shall be satisfactory to the Lowell Community Charter Public School legal counsel. Plans and Specifications for the proposed work will be on file and publicly exhibited The Lowell Community Charter Public School reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any errors or corrections in a bid or in the bid process. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest total price for the project scope of work.
