Reference Number 0000343300 It is the intention of the City of Rochester to enter into a contract with a competent and responsive contractor(s) for plowing snow from the City of Rochester Parking Garages, including the garage rooftops, and, if requested, City owned adjacent garage. This will include de-icing the garages and garage roofs and surface. City garages are listed in Appendix A. No salt can be used in City garages. The successful contractor will only apply City-issued Mr. Magic Ice Melt to de-ice the garages in accordance with City directions. In the event Mr. Magic becomes unavailable, the City will provide its own acceptable alternative product. The contractor must supply well-maintained snow plowing equipment (e.g. 4X4 with a plow, de-ice spreader) to adequately plow and de-ice the garages. All equipment intended for use under this contract will be subject to passing a City-administered inspection. The need for this contract work cannot be predicted by the City, since it is totally dependent on the amount and frequency of snow storms during the winter. Over the last several winters, the City completed snowplowing and deice for City garages anticipates these will be needed during the term of this contract. This is a non-exclusive contract. The City reserves the right to remove snow, snowplow and deice for one or more City garage City-owned equipment. Award of this contract does not obligate the City to call the contractor for snow removal for any or all City garages. The contractor agrees to remove snow, snowplow, and deice for any of the garages and as requested by the City at the price offered for each garage. The decision as to when to snowplow and deice shall rest entirely with the City.
