**As of March 6, 2024, the project was awarded to Grove Construction, with an awarded amount of $44,755.26.** Restroom Renovation The City of Lake Alfred will be using CDBG funds to focus on improving the Highlands Community Center to incorporate the needs of low to moderate-income individuals and families in the community. The current restroom located at the Highlands Community Center does not meet ADA standards and this project will increase access to the public facility to incorporate the needs of all individuals utilizing this facility. All equipment and installations will adhere to the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, the 2012 Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction, and the City of Lake Alfred Building Code. Widen or remove the hallway wall to provide access to restrooms. Demo and remove all existing restroom components to bare walls/ceiling before the commencement of new construction. Install all new plumbing and any new electrical wiring as necessary. Install new exhaust ventilation in both bathrooms including controls, ductwork, and roof. Insulate the interior walls in both restrooms prior to the installation of new sheetrock. Install all new ADA equipment in both toilet rooms: one white toilet, one white sink with lever-style hardware, a 36 grab bar, a 42 grab bar, mirror, paper towel dispenser, soap dispenser, toilet paper dispenser, sink insulation, a coat hook, threshold, waste receptacle, ADA signage, a new door with lever-style hardware and privacy latch. Replace existing lighting with LED lighting in both restrooms. Replace existing light switches with automatic light sensors. Tile the restroom floors with tile choice approved by the City of Lake Alfred. Tile from the floor up to 11/2 of the wall with tile choice approved by the City of Lake Alfred. Finish the remaining drywall. Drywall paint color and quality shall be approved by the City of Lake Alfred.
