Construct a concrete Pedestal for Monument. All bidders must schedule a site visit. M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. Written Description: Pedestal for Monument: o Installation of new pedestal for monument (photo above) o 6-inch thick mix concrete with rebar 2500 mix. o Two in ground concrete posts for stability, filled 18x18 inches each, 65 inches apart. o Pedestal above ground should be smooth exterior concrete. o 166-inch concrete pad for leveling. The top of the first pad should be level with the ground surrounding pavers. o Contractor responsible for ground leveling for concrete pedestal. o The 150 inch above ground visible pedestal should be smooth exterior polished concrete for tiles to be adhered to (done by third party monument vendor) In bed metal piping sleeves (supplied by third party monument vendor) to be put in with the direction and measurements from the third-party monument vendor. o Winning bidder must communicate with the third party monument vendor for final pipe installation dimensions. o Permit is required with city at no charge. The contractor selected must supply an engineered drawing of the proposed build for permit process. Paver Path Extension: o Pavers extend from current Veteran's Memorial area to new Monument pedestal. o Brick pavers to match as close as possible to existing pavers, grey in the middle with a border of red brick pavers. o Brick paver path should be 60 feet from the back of the Veteran's memorial to the Paver oval area in a curved shape. o Brick paver path should follow current ADA standards and be level with the current Veteran's Memorial area. o Connecting the current Veteran's Memorial area by creating a path that is 48 inches wide to match the other walk paths currently at the Veteran's memorial. o Connecting current monument on side to a Frank Gardner plaque. The path curving to meet the current plaque and curving to the right to the new monument. Paver oval area for new monument and pedestal: o The paver oval area should be in a oval surrounding the new pedestal and monument. o The oval paver area should be ADA compliant and 72 inches width from the monument on all sides. o The path should be made of the same brick pavers as the paver path extension. o This oval paver area should be flush with the monument pedestal. o The paver circle should be level, and connect to the paver path extension level. o The outer ring of the paver circle should be enclosed with red bricks matching the aesthetic of the currently memorial.
