The following scope of work is being proposed for the 2024 Pavement Resurfacing Project for the City of Auburn. The scope of work is a brief overview of the expected extent of work on each street included in this contract. This is only a proposed scope with associated estimated quantities. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive any informality the City may determine necessary. The City also reserves to itself the exclusive right to accept any proposal when it is deemed by the City to be in its best interest. The City of Auburn is governed by Title 1 M.R.S.A. 401-410, otherwise known as the Freedom of Information Act, which considers bid specifications as public documents. In awarding any proposal, the City may consider, but not be limited to, any of the following factors: Bidder qualifications, price, experience, financial standing with the City, warranties, references, bonding, delivery date, and service of Bidder. Vendors/Contractors shall be current on all amounts due to the City of Auburn prior to the City entering into any contract agreement. Shim and Overlay Existing Pavement Surface The following locations will be shimmed with 9.5mm HMA and overlaid with approximately 1.5" of 12.5mm HMA. Butt joints will be ground at intersecting streets and driveway openings where applicable. Installing 3/4 " shoulder gravel at 18" width will be included in this contract. Maple Hill Road - Lake Shore Drive to Beaver Road o Existing dimensions: 22' x 7055' o Back up new driveway pavement with gravel or loam and seed to match existing material o Ditching as directed o Install concrete curb, mold 3, starting at 375 Maple Hill Road and extending to 325 Maple Hill Road o Install 6" UD Type B from the address's above daylight in the ditch just south of 325 Maple Hill Road South Witham Road - Penley Corner Road to Sopers Mill Road o Existing dimensions: 20' x 7770' o Back up new driveway pavement with gravel or loam and seed to match existing material o Ditching as directed Holbrook Road - North Auburn Road to Minot Town Line o Existing dimensions: 22' x 5770' o Back up new driveway pavement with gravel or loam and seed to match existing material o Ditching as directed o Add gravel and pave 3 turnout areas o Stripe centerline full length Wilson Hill Road - Turner Town Line to Minot Town Line o Existing dimensions: 23' x 1660' o Back new driveway pavement with gravel or loam and seed to match existing material o Ditching as directed Bailey Road - Wilson Hill Road to Minot Town Line o Existing dimensions: 23' x 1915' o Back up new driveway pavement with gravel or loam and seed to match existing material o Ditching as directed Work Hours No work shall proceed on this project prior to the hour of 7:00 AM or after 7:00 PM (prevailing time) on any working day unless the City has granted prior approval. The definition of work for this specification shall include starting or moving of equipment, machinery, or materials. Any day worked for four hours or more will be considered a full working day.
