Renovation of a fire / police facility in Meriden, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Includes but is not limited to removal of roughly 27+/-squares (contractor to verify) of existing asphalt shingle roof system down to deck and installation of a new structural standing seam roof system with wall panels and coping cap details and the removal of roughly 21+/-squares (contractor to verify) of existing low slope roofing systems, either down to deck or top layer of insulation and the installation of a 2-ply modified bitumen roofing system in cold applied, low voc adhesive with a mineral embedded SBS cap sheet and application an asphalt based aluminized coating. This shall include all necessary flashings and materials in accordance with the specifications, scope of work, and details provided in the bid documents. Any questions regarding bid submission through the City's procurement portal shall be directed to: meridenpurchasing@meridenct.gov Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with a surety acceptable to the City or a certified check of the bidder in the amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the amount bid. The Selected Contractor Shall Be Required to Provide a Performance Bond Equal to 100% of the Contract Amount to the City of Meriden Prior to the Execution of the Contract. The Performance Bond Shall Be Written on the Form Provided and by a License Surety Agency Authorized to Transact Business in the State of Connecticut. The Bond Shall Be Subject to Approval by the City Attorney. The Performance Bond Shall Be Kept in Effect for the Entire Duration of the Contract. Liquidated Damages. Owner and Contractor Recognize That Time is of the Essence of This Agreement and That Owner Will Suffer Financial Loss if the Work is Not Completed Within the Times Specified in Paragraph Above, Plus Any Extensions Thereof Allowed in Accordance With Article 12 of the General Conditions. They Also Recognize the Delays, Expense and Difficulties Involved in Proving the Actual Loss Suffered by Owner if the Work is Not Completed on Time. Accordingly, Instead of Requiring Any Such Proof, Owner and Contractor Agree That as Liquidated Damages for Delay (but Not as a Penalty) Contractor Shall Pay Owner Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for Each Day That Expires After the Time Specified in Paragraph for Substantial Completion Until the Work is Substantially Complete. After Substantial Completion, if Contractor Shall Neglect, Refuse or Fail to Complete the Remaining Work Within the Time Specified in Paragraph for Completion and Readiness for Final Payment or Any Proper Extension Thereof Granted by Owner, Contractor Shall Pay Owner Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) . The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Meriden.
