As of February 23, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The work included under this contract shall be conducted in and around Hillspoint Road in Westport. More specifically, the work is along the shoulder of Hillspoint Road from just south of it's intersection at Hales Road to just south of its intersection with Compo Hill Avenue. All work shall be coordinated or scheduled so as to keep the schedule of the work as continuous as possible. All construction easements have been acquired by the Town This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including setaside (25% SBE and 6.25% M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO. Hillspoint Road Sidewalk Improvements The Town of Westport reserves the right to waive any defects and informalities in the bidding or in any bid, to reject any or all bids for any reason whatsoever, and to accept that bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Westport. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Owner for fifteen (15) percent of the total amount of the Bid, including both the base bid amount and all alternates. As soon as the Bid prices have been compared, the Owner will return the bonds of all except the three lowest responsible Bidders. When the Agreement is executed the bonds of the two remaining unsuccessful Bidders will be returned. The Bid Bond of the successful Bidder will be retained until the payment bond and performance bond have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned. The surety on the bid bond must be a corporate surety licensed to sign surety bonds in the State of Connecticut and also listed by the United States Treasury Department in its latest list as a qualified surety acceptable to the United States Government. No bid bond will be accepted if the amount is less than 15% of the total estimated bid, including both the base bid and all alternates, or if the amount exceeds the limit for which the United States Treasury Department has qualified the surety for any one bond. A certified check may be used in lieu of a Bid Bond. A performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the owner, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. within 120 consecutive calendar days of receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
