This Request for Pre-Qualifications (RFPQ) is an invitation by the Corporation of the County of Peterborough (the County) to prospective respondents to prequalify in accordance with the Evaluation of Responses (Part 4) for eligibility to provide a Sand/Salt Storage Facility, as further described in Part 5 - RFPQ Particulars. Step 1 - Prequalification of Respondents Establish a list of prequalified respondents who are eligible to participate in Step 2 of the process. Step 2 - Second Stage Procurement Process Invite the Prequalified Respondents to participate in a formal competitive process for the provision of the deliverables. This Request for Pre-Qualifications (RFPQ) is an invitation by the County to prospective respondents to participate in Step 1 of the procurement process outlined above. Peterborough County is looking for a Design/Building team that can provide a Sand/Salt Storage Facility at the Douro Depot Public Works site at 714 County Rd 4. The requirement for a Sand/Salt Storage Facility is to replace a salt and sand storage structure that was destroyed in a windstorm. The replacement of this structure provides the impetus for the County to also do some upgrades to the site that will include a new vehicular access to County Road 8 at the south-end of the site, pavement improvements in and around the new storage facility and electrical upgrades to support the facility. The new salt and sand storage building is intended to be approximately 1,300 m2, with a height of approximately 17 meters. It will have 4-meter-high concrete push walls, a steel structure and pre-finished steel siding and roof. The floor will be heavy-duty asphalt. There will be two access points. Adjacent to the building will be a concrete bath tubbed slab for brine storage.
