Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Hyden, Kentucky. Working plans call for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Leslie Co. Board of Education voted on 2/20/2024 to reject all bids and rebid the project with revised scope of work. No schedule for the rebid has been established. The project includes acceptance of all existing site conditions (which are to be inspected by all bidders prior to bidding) and all other general construction, mechanical and electrical work specified in the Contract Documents dated November 2023. Liquidated damages will be assessed per the specifications. Direct Purchase of materials through Owner will be provided as a contractor's option. Refer to Supplemental Instructions to Bidders and construction documents for additional information The work includes the removal and replacement of the concrete curbs and sidewalks, installation of storm drain tile, waterproofing, new painted pipe railing, small segmented retaining walls, guardrails and other associated work required for a complete installation of these new openings The Project work includes the demolition, some realignment/relocation and replacement of the existing concrete curbs and sidewalks and other concrete items at the Leslie County High School Nixon Center Gym. Also included in the project is the removal of steel gates, replacement of the metal handrails, the installation of new storm water lines, culverts and headwalls, small segmented retaining walls, installation of guardrails, installation of waterproofing in limited areas. The existing asphalt will be milled and overlaid as part of another project, along with the painting & stripping of the parking lot and crosswalks after the completion of this project. This curb & sidewalk replacement project will need to be phased when school is in session. This parking lot serves as the main student parking lot and there is no additional or overflow parking available nearby. Bid Submission: Contractors are to place their Bid Bond and Proposal Form in one envelope. The submission envelope must be distinctly labeled for content with the project name and submitting company Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid. The award of the contract shall be made on the basis of the lowest and best bid in the interest of Leslie County Schools Board of Education. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the bid opening. The Leslie County Board of Education provides equal opportunities to all of its bidders with respect to the bidding and award of construction contracts. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities and shall have the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall provide a 100% Performance and Payment Bond.
