Renovation of an educational facility in Honolulu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Start of Service Date: 05/01/2024 End of Service Date: 12/22/2024 The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to, selective demolition and new construction to facilitate the replacement of the electrical service equipment, substation transformer, main electrical distribution apparatus, and work involving voltages of 12.47kV, 480Y/277V, and 208Y/120V systems. Work also includes steel doors and frames, finish hardware, painting, reinforced concrete pads, lighting, HAZMAT disturbance and abatement (LBP, PCB,), and General Contractor hired Independent Third Party Industrial Hygienist (IH), and miscellaneous related work, as shown on the Plans and Technical Specifications. The deadline to submit requests for clarification of the requirements of this IFB is January 29, 2024. All clarification requests shall be submitted via HePS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS section, and all responses shall be issued in an addendum. Requests for substitutions regarding the IFB and its requirements, must be submitted to the Technical Representative of the Procurement Officer (TRPO), Daren Lui via E-mail at wlui@hawaii.edu no later than January 29, 2024. Contractor's License Requirement To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor's license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. In addition, bidders must either possess or list Subcontractors who possess specialty contractor licenses for the specialty work required for this project. The bidder shall be solely responsible for insuring that all specialty licenses required to complete the project are covered in its bid. Failure to list all required subcontractors may be grounds for disqualification. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty.
