The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to the upgrading of the interior electrical and telecommunications distribution systems; constructing new Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) telecommunication rooms; providing new air conditioning systems; interior renovations in building 8802; and installing new telecommunication lines between buildings 8816, 8818 and 8806. The work includes selective demolition, hazardous materials removal, installation of new drywall, lighting, acoustical ceiling tiles, electrical, painting, doors and hardware, and signage, as called for in the Plans and Technical Specifications. To Be Eligible to Bid, Bidders Must Possess a Valid State of Hawaii Contractor's License B. Bids From Contractors Not Licensed in the State of Hawaii Will Not Beconsidered. In Addition, Bidders Must Either Possess or List Subcontractors Who Possess Specialty Contractor Licenses for the Specialty Work Required for This Project. The Bidder Shall Be Solely Responsible for Insuring That All Specialty Licenses Required to Complete the Project Are Covered in Its Bid. Failure to List All Required Subcontractors May Be Grounds for Disqualification. If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty In accordance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, this proposal is accompanied with a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total amount proposed. The Bidder shall use the attached Surety Bid Bond form. If the Bidder elects to use other acceptable forms of security listed in Section 2.8 of the General Provisions, the Bidder shall deposit the bid security with the Facilities Business Office prior to the bid due date.
