Exterior Painting Services for the EDD-owned building located at 409 K Street, Eureka, CA 95501. Term: March 1, 2024 through November 30, 2024 If you submit a quote, it shall be presumed that you have carefully and thoroughly inspected the sites and are satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered. A five percent (5%) bid preference is available to a non-small business claiming twentyfive percent (25%) California certified small business subcontractor participation. 1. Cover all previously painted exterior surfaces in color(s) and finish(es) selected by the EDD Representative. The Contractor shall submit for the EDD's approval finished samples of colors specified. 2. The Contractor shall examine all the surfaces to be finished under this Agreement to determine that the work of other trades has been left or installed in satisfactory condition to receive paint, stain, or a specific finish. Before commencing work the Contractor shall notify the EDD in writing of any surfaces that are unsatisfactory for proper paint finish. The application of the first coat of any finishing process shall constitute acceptance of the surface. 3. All necessary scaffolding shall be furnished and installed by the Contractor. Such scaffolding shall conform to regulations of the State Industrial Accident Commission and all local ordinances. 4. Painting shall only be done when surfaces are dry. All materials shall be applied at the proper viscosity. 5. Each coat of paint shall be applied at the proper consistency and brushed evenly, free of brush marks, sags, runs, and with no evidence of poor workmanship. Color between the coats of paint shall differ (color variations between coats should be enough to distinguish color change, but not enough to impair hiding). Paint shall besharply cut to lines. Finished paint surfaces shall be free from defects or blemishes. All undercoats shall be a near match in color to the finish coat, but enough different to distinguish separate coats. 6. All paint application shall be either by brush or roller. 7. The number of coats specified are the minimum; full coverage is required. 8. Application of paint shall be by methods approved by Local Joint Labor Committees. The EDD's approval of spray applications shall be in accordance with and subject to union agreements for sprayable surfaces and types of finishes. B. The Contractor will be expected to provide any or all of the following during the term of this Agreement: o Inspections pertaining to painting exterior surfaces. o Consultation/planning on best method to achieve the intended result. o Identify and report to the EDD Representative any safety hazard, faulty equipment, or other condition encountered during the course of the work at the EDD office which the Contractor determines needing repair or replacement. o The Contractor shall comply with all state, EDD, and local office policies and procedures while on the premises.
