Site work for a civil project in Norwood, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Ellis Pond Dam Repair. Work will include: Clean and Inspect Toe Drain, Reset Toe Drain Pipe at Outfall, Reset Toe Drain at Clean Out, Exercise Low-Level Outlet Gates, Remove and Cover Cables at the Auxiliary Spillway. Site Description Ellis Pond Dam (National ID MA00805/State ID 6-11-220-1), as shown on Sheet 1.0 of Appendix A, is a 400-foot long dam that consists of four major elements; the earthen embankment, the primary spillway, the low-level outlet, and the auxiliary spillway. The earthen embankment at Ellis Pond Dam is separated into two sections - a short, approximately 55-foot long section located right of the primary spillway and a 210- foot long section located between the primary and auxiliary spillways. The dam has a total structural height of approximately 16.5 feet and a hydraulic height of approximately 13 feet. The upstream side of the embankment is sloped at approximately 2.5H:1V and protected by stone riprap. The upper two to three feet of the riprap along the section of the embankment between the spillways is filled with concrete. The crest between the auxiliary spillway and primary spillway is about 20 feet wide and is grassed with a 6-foot-wide stone dust walking path along the centerline. The crest from the primary spillway to the right abutment is a stone dust-covered parking area. The downstream slope of the dam is grass covered with an average slope of approximately 3H:1V. A toe drain system that includes a 6-inch slotted PVC pipe runs along the toe of the downstream slope. Discharges from the toe drain exit through a concrete outlet structure with a v-notch weir that is located on the left side of the primary spillway discharge channel. A cleanout for the toe drain is located on the left abutment near the downstream edge of the crest. The following descriptions of the primary spillway and low-level outlet are paraphrased from the combined Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Operations and Maintenance Manual (O&M) prepared by Fay, Spofford & Thorndike:
