Introduction. The Town of Cape Charles, Virginia, is inviting bids for installation of lighting on Peach Street between Mason and Randolph Avenues. Project Overview. The project includes installation of two single light poles and fixtures on both the east and west sides of the street and three twin light poles and fixtures in the parking median. Scope of Work. The seven light poles and fixtures will be provided by the Town. Installation shall be made on foundations provided by the Town. The foundations will include stubbed out conduit with wiring and mounting bolts. Installation shall include wiring the fixtures and testing the lights at the installed control panel provided by the Town. Light pole and fixture specifications are attached. Instructions to Bidders. A. Bids must be submitted in accordance with the instructions and requirements contained in this IFB. Failure to do so may result in the bid being considered nonresponsive and it may be rejected. B. Bidders must promptly notify the Town of any ambiguity, inconsistency, or error which may be discovered upon examination of the IFB. C. For clarification or interpretation of this IFB contact Mr. Bob Panek at 757-331- 3259 ext. 19. Contract Award. Award will be made by the Town Manager. The Town reserves the right to negotiate with the low bidder should sufficient funds not be available. The Agreement, attached, will be signed upon contract award. Contract Times. The work shall be completed and ready for inspection no later than thirty (30) days after light poles and fixtures are mad available by the Town. Inspection. Owner's Representative shall inspect the work and notify Contractor whether any corrections are necessary to comply with the Scope of Work and Specifications. Additionally, Contractor shall schedule and obtain the necessary inspections from the Town's Building Official. Payment. Contractor shall submit an invoice to the Owner's Representative after satisfactory completion of the work. Payment shall be made by Owner within fourteen (14) days of receipt. Late Completion. If the work is not completed on time, Liquidated Damages shall be assessed at the rate of fifty dollars ($50) per day and withheld from payment.
