As of April 15, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The City of Sierra Vista will accept competitive sealed bids from experienced contractors to purchase and install solar-powered street lights in the Cloud 9/Montebello/Whispering Springs subdivisions. The Engineer's estimate for the entire project is: $600,000 however the City will select the quantity of street lights to complete based on its available budget (about 50% of the entire project total). The City of Sierra Vista has been awarded a grant through the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) and Award shall be to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. This purchase is partially funded by the Federal Transit Authority as part of the 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Funding Program (49 U.S.C. 5307). This purchase will be subject to all applicable federal requirements of the grant under 2 CFR 200 and FTA Circular 4220.1F. Davis Bacon wages will apply. City's response to questions February 12, 2024 by 5:00pm The Contractor shall purchase and install up to 54 solar light poles and bases. The poles, luminaries, solar panels, batteries, battery boxes, wiring, controllers, and J-bolts shall be supplied by a single Solar Lighting Supplier as described in the Materials and Performance Specifications. The Contractor will construct pole bases at each location as shown in the attached photos. The pole bases will be constructed in accordance with the attached detail. Work associated with this project shall be completed within 120 calendar days of delivery of the lighting equipment.
