The City of Simi Valley (City) invites your firm to submit a Statement of Qualifications for On-Call Inspection Services for the design and construction of various public works projects. The City intends to select one (1) to three (3) firms to provide On-Call Inspection Services on an as-needed basis. The attached "Request for Qualifications" document contains information and procedures to assist you in the preparation of the Statement of Qualifications. The City of Simi Valley (City) Department of Public Works is seeking interested firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications for On-Call Inspection Services associated with the design and construction of City public works projects. Some of these projects are federally funded and therefore are subject to applicable federal requirements, including 49 CFR 26 - Participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The DBE goal for these services is 0%. The term for this service will be two (2) years from the effective date, with an option to renew one (1) additional year. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Services to be Provided The selected firm(s) shall provide the Professional Services in connection with design and construction of various public works projects within the City. These Professional Services will be assigned on an as-needed basis through the issuance of task orders depending upon the Department's project workload. Award of this annual contract does not necessarily guarantee the assignment of specific projects to the Consultant. The work, in general, may include but not limited to the following: 1. Inspect work quality and materials used in a variety of Capital Improvement Projects to ensure compliance with applicable specifications, codes, ordinances, and regulations. 2. Inspect street improvements projects including survey staking, subgrade preparation, and placement of various rehabilitation & maintenance treatments. 3. Prepare detailed documentation of construction progress and inspection using City designated forms. Prepare various reports on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly operations and activities. 4. Attend pre-construction and construction progress meetings as necessary. 5. Verify site conditions such as adequacy of survey staking, adjoining property conditions, vehicular traffic and pedestrian problems, utility interference, drainage conditions, workspace, storage, and stockpiling. 6. Discuss, review, and/or verify project correspondence with Engineer. Including request for information (RFI), request for clarification, and construction issues brought to the City's attention by citizens. 7. Review contractor's construction safety, public safety procedure, construction methods and procedures, and sequence of construction. 8. Measure completed work to verify monthly pay requests and report all extra work items. 9. Prepare a list of items for correction (punch list) and prepare redlined asbuilt plans.
