Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Haymarket, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
21C23011 Generally, the Project includes, but is not limited to, reducing congestion by improving the existing intersection with James Long Park and Route 15. This project will widen the existing James Long Park entrance to add a second left turn lane onto Route 15. The project will also relocate an existing parking lot entrance away from the intersection to further improve traffic flow. A connection to the existing Shared Use Path along Route 15 will be provided and curb and gutter will be added (with enclosed drainage systems). The existing gravel parking lot southeast of the intersection will be expanded and sidewalks provided (with cross walks) for additional parking and pedestrian flow. The existing stormwater basin near the equestrian area will be adjusted for the additional runoff. Work within the existing VDOT Right-ofWay will need to occur and this will include: (1) adjusting existing signal infrastructure on Route 15 for the wider entrance and new turn lane, (2) reworking the existing cross walks and pedestrian signals, (3) adjusting an existing storm sewer system along Route 15 for the expanded entrance radius. Address: 44603 James Madison Hwy, Haymarket, VA 20169 Work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of erosion control devices, clearing and grubbing, grading, excavation, supplying and installing storm sewers pipes, sanitary sewer, waterline, SWM Facilities, traffic signals, signage, pavement markings, lighting, drainage structures, ditches, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, asphalt paving, mill and overlaying, and all measures required for the maintenance of traffic during construction. All work shall be performed in accordance with the approved project plans and bid documents. The completed project must meet any and all of the requirements for final acceptance by the Virginia Department of Transportation. No employee or agent of the County shall have the authority to furnish any other explanation or interpretation, verbal or written. All Bidders shall have a valid certificate of authority or registration to transact business in Virginia with the Virginia State Corporation Commission as required by Title 13.1 or Title 50 of the Code of Virginia at time of bid submission. Prior to submission of bids, all Bidders shall be VDOT prequalified. In accordance with Prince William County Procurement Regulations, the County reserves the right to reject any bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids, which are, in consideration, in the best interest of the County. Bidders interested in bidding shall have registered with online, a 24-hour access for vendor registration, including a variety of solicitation, contract, and general information at electronically. BID BOND KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, the undersigned: _as Principal and _as Surety, are hereby held and firmly bound unto Prince William Board of County Supervisors (OWNER) in the penal sum of (5% total amount of Bid) for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we hereby jointly and severely bind ourselves, successors and assigns. If a certified check or a cashiers' check is submitted as the Proposal Bid Bond, the check is to be made payable to the Chief Procurement Officer, Prince William County, and the project name and Contract Number shall appear on the face of the check, as well as the business name of the Bidder. The Contractor shall furnish along with the required number of copies of the Contract duly signed by him, two (2) originals of Performance and Payment Bonds, (forms included in the Bid Documents), each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The County shall have the right to reject any or all Bids and to reject a Bid not accompanied by required bid security or other data required by the Bidding Documents, or to reject a Bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular. The Board of County Supervisors of Prince William County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids, which are, in consideration, in the best interest of the County. To begin Work within fifteen days from date of Contract award by the Board of County Supervisors unless otherwise indicated otherwise in the written "Notice to Proceed" prosecute the Work in such a manner as to achieve Final Completion within 365 days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) for any and all Work, including Punch list Work, other contractual requirements set by the Contract. In coordination and agreement with the contractor, the County may delay issuance of a Notice to Proceed for construction for up to ninety (90) days from the contract award date to allow the contractor time for ordering long-lead-time items.
